Prof. Dr. med. Petra Staubach-Renz


Petra Staubach started her career as pharmaceutical assistant in laboratories of different companies, e.g. Procter & Gamble (1980-1990). In 1990 she began to study medicine at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, graduating in 1996 as Medical Doctor.
Since then she works at the Department of Dermatology of the University Hospital in Mainz, first as assistant physician, since 2000 as a specialist for Dermatology, since 2003 for Allergy, since 2004 as a senior physician including responsibility for the educational student program.

During her period of education she obtained also occupational skills on nutritional medicine, acupuncture, naturopathy, psychosomatic medicine and quality management.
Since 2004 she is working intensively with all inflammatory dermatological diseases including all patients subtypes of atopic eczema, urticaria, angioedema, psoriasis, akne inversa, and mastocytosis. She is national and international guideline communities. Additionally since 2014 she started offering a specialized outclinic for skin diseases in children.

She is head of the Clinical Research Dermatology University Medical Center Mainz (diagnostic and therapy trials [Adults and children]) as a PI (Investigator initiated Trials, Phase I-IV, medical products, diagnostics, epidemiological studies) in all dermatological fields (inflammatory dermatological diseases, allergy, aesthetics, phlebology, oncology).

She is also member of different international societies and guideline pannels.
Beside several published papers she is a member in different advisory boards "inflammatory diseases", a leading member of the urticaria network and coauthor of two urticaria advice booklets for patients.
